The work gathers talented cast, has many exciting performances but the developments is still discrete.
The Greatest Showman - director Michael Gracey's debut film - is considered the most outstanding music film of the year. The work was nominated at Golden Globe for the three categories, "Best Comedy / Musical," " Best Actor in a Comedy / Musical for Hugh Jackman and Best Song for a Song This Is Me.
The movie is like a quick tape on the life of P.T. Barnum (Hugh Jacman) - who is considered the forefather of the variety show. Born to be a tailor's son, the Barnum is yearning to shine in the limelight. He fell in love with Charity (Michelle Williams) - the ladies of the upper class. After his father died, Barnum had to do all sorts of jobs to make a living, even when he was so hungry to steal bread.
One day, when a man with a strange face gave the apple, Barnum was inspired to create a circus. Later, he and Charity come together despite the opposition of her family. Barnum brings together bizarre people from all over, or the bottom of society, to make the most notice of America's show. Since then, he has become a famous but also scandalous manager, especially when her "Swedish singer" Jenny Lind (Rebecca Ferguson) appeared.

The cast of the movie has both the ability to act, as well as the name that attracts the audience. Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams are class A stars who have been recognized for their talent by Oscar nominations. Meanwhile, Zac Efron and Zendaya are the faces with a lot of fans. The combined dance performances are elaborately arranged, excited and energetic. The two characters Zac Efron and Zendaya show are romantic, sweet.

Another highlight is the film set in New York in the past but the story of showbiz, the art of polishing the image or the scandal is quite close to modern life. Game war between Barnum and New York Herald critic James Gorden Bennett are inserted in the story, creating a satirical color for the film.
The Greatest Showman is a movie that is easy to impress with the masses by images, beautiful casts and talents, music catching the ears. But in terms of specialization, this work is just average because of the emotional connection is quite sporadic, although director Michael Gracey has done the pretty good superficial.
The music of the film catch the ears but are pop songs appeared in the market and difficult to distinguish. In addition to the featured songs such as This is Me or A Million Dreams, the remaining songs are difficult to distinguish because of the similar melody. Many interwoven songs and dialogues are made compulsory, sometimes making the emotional circuit of the story is interrupted.
Hugh Jackman continues to show his singing and dancing skills in this movie but there is no breakthrough in acting. Jenny Lind was introduced as an opera singer, but as she stepped onto the stage in an auditorium that looked like an Opera concert, her song Never Enough was not different to a pop song. The Greatest Showman's music is easy to listen to, but not enough to make a living after the movie's release. At this point, the work is far from La La Land - the best film of last year.

The Greatest Showman is a good music entertainment film but it is not enough to be consider as a good movie. The film has a vibrant, bustling atmosphere and can make the public dreaming in the world of Barnum with the romantic, soothing pop music. But only that. The Greatest Showman is simply bringing the fun, dream to the viewer during the holiday season.
The Greatest Showman opened in Vietnam on December 29.
