- Why are you succeeding with bolero music, you turned to Trinh's music?
- Actually, I was going to sing Trinh music before the bolero. The singing of music has been arranged in my mind for a long time. But what happens is due to the word of charm. The moment I decided to sing bolero was when I was most inspired by this song. By now, I still find my choice is right.
The first song I performed was Trinh. I used to sing for 50,000 to 60,000 thanks to the songs of Trinh Cong Son. These songs are so familiar to me, sticking like my blood.

- What is your difficulty in expressing Trinh Cong Son's music?
- Step into the studio, every song, I do not need to show more than three times. I just need to flip through the memories and sing the old songs with emotion, experience, level that i am having.
Once you have sang bolero well, you will not be afraid of any music. In my opinion, bolero is the hardest and most characteristic music. Each word, tone is very simple, honest, rustic. Trinh music is a simple music, close to people. But to express that simplicity in a passionate way, without exaggeration, dryness or pressure is not a simple problem. The songs have wide duration, each sing must focus on each sentence. Students who take examination in music field only need to choose the song of Trinh Cong Son also made the judge to admire. At the moment, it is the time I sing Trinh's song well and best fit. The bitter, sweet in the life of 20 years gave me a lot of emotions. Do not want to rush, I take more time to decide to come to this music.
- What do you say in response to the opinion that Le Quyên is seeking a way out while singers compete for "bolero" territory?
- Why I go back, I must take it as a advantage. I never worried about being replaced because Le Quyen singing only one, no substituted. Audiences may love a new name in the future. That person may be more famous than me because the voice is different but not like me.
But I do not think I should keep up with success. Artists must fly out of safety boundaries to devote to the audience. I have the ambition to conquer the listener more and expect people to feel my efforts, ambition.
Everyone has the right to doubt me how to sing Trinh music. By being an artist means servicing hundreds of people. I dare not claim to be 100% successful. But with a million people country like Vietnam, if only one or two percent of them were conquered, I think it was a success.

- How are the names like Khanh Ly, Hong Nhung ... influenced you on the way to conquer music Trinh?
- I'm lucky not to be influenced by previous vocalists. The most foolish thing for an artist is to want to replace someone who has succeeded in expressing a familiar song. Ms. Khanh Ly has only one. Hong Nhung is the only one and so am I. I should be myself forever when I stand on the stage and in the studio.
- How much investment do you make for Trinh's music upcoming?
- The selection of 12 songs in the treasure of composer Trinh Cong Son is a very headache and fatigue. I think it took 20 years of singing to pick the right songs for the album. Not all that I sing well. I need to pick out the songs that fit the thorny, sweet and modern.
Besides, I combine with top names in musicians such as Hoai Sa, Minh Hoang, Vinh Tam and Minh Quan. Each person has a different strength in harmonizing, orchestrating and choosing certain songs to suit their strengths. To finish a song on the album, I had to wait a year because they were too busy. They must love to take the time to make new music products that best fit my vocals. Not to mention, I'm a picky person to make music. With a song, I request three master tracks (the final stage to finish a song). In my own view, the harmonies in the new album are the culmination of Trinh's music.

- What song is your favorite song from Trinh's music album this time?
- That is Lull in silence I heard this song when I was little, when I did not understand the meaning. This is also one of the first songs I performed when I was a novice. To sing Lull in silence is very difficult, both technical and expressing content. Behind the simple lyrics is the high philosophies. I was obsessed by the extreme loneliness of the musician in the sentence of song seemingly very peaceful: "No wait for the dawn, how life is quiet, like the rice field harvested, like the forest deserted. I am silent between white walls."
In the past, every time I thought of this song, I was sweating. In the new album, I sing higher than the singers who once performed one tone. There are high sections, I feel like bursting chest but right after adjusting voice to the slender, light as silk. That's the technique I can do now.
